Proform 7.0 Crosstrainer Review

The proform 7.0 cross trainer is not the cheapest nor the most expensive cross trainer offered by proform.  It's somewhere in the middle, and its aim is to help you build muscles, lose inches on your stomach and other areas, as well as improve your cardiovascular muscles.  However, at $600, it is a decent investment to make.  Is it worth every penny?  That's what we will discuss in this review.

First off, let's talk about what I enjoyed from the proform 7.0 cross trainer.  It has the same quick control technology as a lot of other proform equipment.  Basically it works like this -- if you wanted to change the speed of the treadmill, you just simply push one button.  The cross trainer can go from zero to 10 mph, and there are 10 buttons -- labeled 1 to 10, signifying each speed.  If you want to go 6 miles an hour, just hit the six button on the console.  This seamless speed transition is perhaps the best feature on the proform 7.0 cross trainer.

The same type of quick controls are found for inclinations as well.  You can incline from 0% to 10% with the push of one button as well.  Literally, within one second you can change the speed and the inclination percentage on this cross trainer.

Another one of my favorite features is the iFit challenge feature that comes with this cross trainer.  To really reach optimal fitness, you have to combine working out with eating right.  With this program, it will give you monthly nutrition and exercise plans you can follow, so you can plan to eat well as well as work out.  It was very easy to use, unlike some of the other fitness programs I have used in the past. 

Not everything is perfect on the proform 7.0 cross trainer, however.  Perhaps my biggest complaint is that it is not constructed as sturdy as I like.  I have a feeling that the more I use it, the more noisy it will become and  I will have to perform more maintenance on it.  Of course, I wasn't expecting the most solid construction for $700.

In the end, I can say that for its price, the proform 7.0 cross trainer is a good deal.  It's not the most perfect cross trainer out there, and if you really dig around you could probably find a better deal.  However, I will say that you can't go wrong if you choose this for your cross trainer.
