ProForm 7.5 Distance
Trainer Treadmill Reviewed
The ProForm
7.5 Distance Trainer Treadmill has the standard ProForm
features found on it. It has its own fitness
journal, quick speed and quick incline controls, a design that
is beneficial for saving space, a dual grip heart monitor and
28 different workout programs. In addition, it also has
customized race programs and a specific type of cushioning
designed by ProForm called ProResponse. All of this is quite
impressive for the price tag attached to the ProForm 7.5
Distance Trainer Treadmill, which is usually under
$800. This raises
eyebrows -- how can something with so many features be priced
so cheaply?
Well the
bottom line is that this is an economy treadmill, and is not
constructed with the strength that you will find in more
expensive treadmills. In fact, if you are going to
use this for running I'd suggest you utilize another
treadmill. The
construction simply will not hold up over time very
well. While you
get a lot of cool features, they do you no good if the
treadmill falls apart.
For example,
one of the features is its quick speed
controls. It
works like this. There are a row of
numbers -- 1 through 12 -- on the console. Each one stands for
miles per hour. If you push six, the
treadmill will instantly assume the speed of 6
mph. A great
feature on its own, but when you put it together with
poor design, you probably don't want to push anything
higher than a five.
One of the
things I really liked about the ProForm 7.5 Distance Trainer
Treadmill is that it has a two user fitness
journal.
This is perfect for a husband and wife who both will
share the treadmill. Within this fitness
journal you can track your progress and a variety other
fitness stats. It will show you how
far you've gone on it so you can compare it to your
fitness goals.
Another great
feature is the fact that you can customize your workouts from
the preprogrammed workouts included with the
treadmill. Of
course, you probably only will want to use workouts that do not
require distance running. Which is a bit ironic
considering this treadmill is a "distance trainer".
In the end,
this is an excellent buy for the person who will use the
treadmill for walking. It is a poor buy for someone
who wants to get a bit more of a work out.
