Proform 850 Elliptical Review

Proform 850 Elliptical Reviewed

The proform 850 elliptical looks good on paper.  12 different customizable workouts, silent magnetic resistance so you can adjust the resistance without interrupting your work out, and it even comes with a game screen and customizable games that you can play when using the elliptical.  And all this for under $700!  However, any piece of fitness equipment can look good on paper.  I'm interested to see how it holds up under actual use.  That is what we will discuss and this review.

If you've had past experience with proform fitness equipment, you will know that their construction quality is top notch and is often times less expensive than other types of fitness equipment with the same features.  I am happy to say that the proform 850 was no exception.  It is well constructed and has yet to wobble on me at all.

In addition, I have found that it's easy to store when I'm not using it.  It folds up into a small and easily manageable unit that a single person can move, because there are rollers on the front to make it mobile.

As far as some of the training programs that are offered on the proform 850, they are nothing to write home about.  But then again, that is pretty much par for the course when it comes to these programs.  Oftentimes they will be hyped to the moon as being just like having your own personal trainer.  Of course, they very rarely deliver on this promise.  The proform 850 workout programs are good, but they are basic.

A word of advice if you order the proform 850.  Its weight is just under the limit of the max weight that UPS will handle.  I'm sure it was designed that way intentionally.  The problem is that it is much more susceptible to damage because of its size.  Therefore, if a package arrives at your doorstep that looks like it is damaged, then you should reject it.  I have a few friends who've had this problem.

Besides that, there is a little bit of assembly that is required with the proform 850.  It is not much, but plan on spending at least an hour or so taking it out of the box and putting it together.  Not the easiest machine to assemble, but not the hardest either.
